Becoming real

Terry @ 9:48 am

Billie at Parts-n-Pieces adds a new element to her blogging with the addition of a podcast. In it, she speaks of being heard as a way to be known, a way of becoming real. I think that’s important. I’m not brave enough to record my voice, but following her example in my own way, I’ve put a current picture up after a long stretch without one.

This is the real me.

It’s good to see you! I wouldn’t like recoding my voice because I sound 12. Sometimes telemarketers ask to speak to my mom when they call me. I think I would lose any type of credibility I may have (which isn’t much).

I love your new picture! I remember the other one with your hair curly (or is my mind playing tricks on me?), but this one is fantastic.

    Nice picture.

    Thanks, everyone!

Melinda, I had my hair long and permed for over 20 years. About a year ago I decided to go natural and stopped doing it. When I cut it a month ago, the last of the perm was gone. I’ve found I really like how it looks and feels.

It’s great to finally put a face with the blog site! Like others on this comment section, I don’t sound right when I’m recorded. In person, I have a deeper voice than I sound like I have on tape. My husband says I sound like a 3 year-old on our answering machine, so he put the message on it.
