5 alphabetical things about me
Since I was tagged by both Billie and Shamash, I’m going to mix it up and combine the two. My list isn’t nearly as interesting as theirs, though.
5 alphabetical things you might not know about me:
- I- Indulgence? 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets
- P- Phobias/Fears? Heights (Tony fell out a story-and-a-half window at my parents’ house when he was a toddler) and claustrophobia. The worst combination of the 2 is River Park Square shopping center: to get to the top floor you have the choice between 6 stories of exposed escalators and an elevator.
- Q- Favorite Quote? “Wisdom begins in wonder.” Socrates
- V- Vegetable You Hate? cooked carrots
- X – Xrays? Lots of those – most of my bones and joints have been injured at one time or another. Ribs: busted 3 times (baseball, cat, softball). Knee: torn ACL and bone chips (basketball). Both ankles: torn ligaments and one bone crack (basketball, baseball, volleyball). Hand: 4 bones broken (softball). Shoulder: torn rotator cuff, dislocated (lifting weights). Nose: broken twice (baseball, basketball). Skull: one concussion (baseball). Wrist: cracked (fall). Foot: 2 broken bones (plain stupidity). Fingers: too many breaks to count. After awhile, the emergency room started slipping me business cards for the domestic violence shelter. I figured about that time I was too old to keep playing. Is it any wonder I have arthritis? :)

broken rib… as caused by a cat?!? Do tell the story! Jane(Quote)
Jane, 30 lb cat + tiny feet = a lot of pounds per square inch. The cat jumped from a shelf to my back when I was laying on the floor and broke 2 ribs. Yes, the cat is still around. :) Terry(Quote)
Holy cow, 30 lbs? I thought my 20 lb cat was bad. But big cats have such great bellies. :-)
I’d keep the cat too.
Hope your bone density is better these days. Jane(Quote)
Jane, I had a bone density scan done about a year ago and the results weren’t great. I have to be more careful these days, and take calcium. I read a study last night (will do a post about it soon) saying that taking antidepressants correlates with an 50% increased risk of fractures. I wonder if that’s been part of the problem.
