Hemp Fest in Seattle
This weekend Seattle’s Myrtle Edwards Park is home to Hemp Fest, the world’s largest marijuana educational and drug law reform rally. Two days worth of entertainment will be running on 6 stages with live music, informational speakers including former Seattle Police Chief Norm Stamper, and arts and crafts venders’ booths. Price? It’s all free and run by volunteers. Food is available on site.
Expected attendance is in the 150,000 range.
Rules are simple:
- Be Peaceful.
- Respect the space and property of others.
- Protect the beauty of the parks and any structures within.
- Be respectful of Hempfest’s neighbors.
- No dogs, weapons, alcohol, narcotics or camping allowed.
As most of you know, I’m all in favor of the legalization of marijuana. Unfortunately, Seattle’s a little far to drive today. But if you’re in the area, drop by the park, enjoy the music, and make your voice heard for sanity and reform. If you’re so inclined, you can make a tax-deductible donation.

I’m in favor or marijuana too. Anyone who has watched a loved one die a painful, cancerous death might feel that way. I’ve never tried the stuff though. I would if someone would hand me a doobie. That and a bag of Cheetos. LOL
I defense of recreational pot smokers, I’ve never had one ever do anything nasty to me. They were mellow and fun. Perhaps we’d all be kinder and gentler if we could all have a mid-day toke.
