I hear you
This early morning I’m catching up with Mark Brown, who appears on the web as Brillig01, and his blog Cuddle Ugly, an allusion to one of my all-time favorite poems, Kissing the Ugly, which he has recently republished online.
His mission statement, from Poetry & The Struggle to be Heard:
I’m a dangerous man. I value poetry. [...]
I don’t see a line, do you?
“If you think it’s a socialist plot, then please drop out of the federal employees health program.”

You want me to put rhinestones WHERE?
Forget the Bedazzler. Your t-shirt isn’t the only thing that can be improved by the addition of sequins and gems. Clearly you’ve been neglectful if your pubis has not reached its full potential; dressed up like a disco ball.
A handful of elite spas are offering Vajazzle services–dazzle for your vajayjay– for $50 a pop. [...]
Quote of the month
From WTOP.com
copyright 2010, the Gainsville Times:
Western Prince William Del. Bob Marshall, R-13th, says disabled children are God’s punishment to women who have aborted their first pregnancy.

He served in government in many different roles, including Chief of Staff of the White House, NATO Supreme Commander, and most famously as Sec. of State under Reagan, when, upon the attempted assassination of his boss, he asserted his “Constitutional” claim to executive power.
He was, in fact, wrong.
He [...]

Not only do they accept donations using fabric from your stash, but they’ll send [...]
If your webpage could sing in the shower
Type in the address of any web page (minus the http://) to turn the text to music. The non-musical letters are tossed out, and a secret algorithm sets the key, rhythm, tempo and orchestration. Every page I tried had a unique sound.
Give it a try!
Run Sarah, run
An open letter from Leonard Pitts Jr. to Sarah Palin:
Dear Sarah Palin:
I hear you’re pondering a run for the White House in 2012. Last week, you told Fox News it would be “absurd” to rule it out.
I’m writing to ask that you rule it in. I very badly want you to run for – and [...]
Diagnosing history
It was a recipe for tragedy. In 1875, Mary Todd Lincoln was put on public trial for insanity by her sole surviving son, Robert. She was found guilty and committed to an asylum, where she was remained incarcerated against her will for months. Even today she is remembered, if indeed she is [...]
